A Word from Our Pastor 2018 March

Dear Members and Friends of Berkeley Methodist United,

It is with both gratitude and sadness that I am announcing today that I have requested retirement from the Bishop, effective June 30, 2018.

The past twenty years of ministry with and to the people of BMU have been richly rewarding, challenging and heart-warming for me, personally and professionally.  Through it all, you have been my partners in a faith journey that has transformed us all.

In the months ahead, we will have opportunities to say farewell and to reflect on the years we have spent together.  It is my deepest hope that the things we have learned from each other will continue to bear fruit in our lives, and in the life of our church and community.

I am grateful for the love you have shared with me, and know that those bonds are never broken, and only deepen with time.

There are big changes ahead.  I invite you to join me in trusting God for a future that will bring fulfillment, meaning and even more love into our lives.

May God’s peace uplift you,

Rev. Naomi

P.S.  The SPRC Committee met your incoming pastor last week.  Unfortunately, I cannot announce the name just yet, as it must be kept confidential for the next few days.  I am telling you this now, though, to let you know that everything is being taken care of.
