Camille Obata – one of our 2021 Kato Scholarship recipients

Camille is currently attending Boston University School of Theology where she is studying for her MDiv and hopes to serve God as a hospital or prison chaplain.  She has served in multiple positions at both Junior High Camp and Asian Camp (in counselor and director roles) and has discerned God’s call on her life to help undo systemic racism.

Joshua Kuramoto – one of our 2021 Kato Scholarship recipients

Joshua is in his first year at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. where he hopes to become an elder in the United Methodist Church.  He has served at both Asian Camp and at his home church as one of the youth directors. He was also a Global Mission Fellow and served for two years in Germany at Bremen United Methodist Church and assisted in their refugee outreach program.

We are honored to be able to offer this scholarship to two deserving people and wish them all the best in their future endeavors!
